Cascais and the Edge of Europe

30 minutes by train along the Tagus and then the Atlantic. Former fishing village turned royal resort. Boca do Inferno sea cave. Praia do Guincho beyond is the wild beach. Cabo da Roca — continental Europe's westernmost point — is fifteen minutes further by car. Stand there and there's nothing between you and America but ocean. Train from Cais do Sodre every 20 minutes. Cascais is walkable; Guincho needs a bus.
